RFMS Hosts 2015 Owners Conference and Education Event

Birmingham, AL – April 29, 2015 – Resource and Financial Management Systems (RFMS, Inc.) recently held its bi-annual Owners Conference and Education Event at the Ross Bridge Spa and Resort located in Birmingham, AL.  RFMS, Inc. provides flooring specific business management software that is used by flooring dealers across the US, Canada, Australasia and the UK.

220 attendees from 111 companies (and representing between $1.5 and 2 billion in annual revenues) enjoyed 2 full days of management workshops, software training, networking and social events.  Attendees were also able to meet with the entire 80+ RFMS staff members who traveled from all across the US to attend the event.

The theme of this year’s conference was “Technology, Your Business and RFMS” with a focus on increasing profits using technology and software.  36 workshops were available to attendees with topics including management strategies, industry benchmarking, inventory management, mobile software applications and much more.

One of the speakers on the Industry Experts Panel was Tom Lape, President, Mohawk Residential & Commercial Business who discussed the importance of technology and how it is the key to the future of the flooring industry.  Shaw Industries, a big supporter of the B2B Ecommerce initiative was another conference sponsor.

“What’s hot right now is what everyone is carrying around in their pocket—it’s all going mobile” says Dave Dumoulin, Sales Director at RFMS.  “It’s how we can create a sales transaction on a mobile device in a house, on a job site or the showroom floor”.   These capabilities were demonstrated and discussed at the conference and were received with great enthusiasm by the attendees who were ready to embrace and deploy these new technologies in their own businesses.

The conference was not just about learning—everyone enjoyed a dinner party Wednesday night celebrating the 30th Anniversary of RFMS that included a band and outside BBQ.

RFMS is already beginning to plan the 2017 event.  Stay tuned for details.
